Anyone who has never been to Milan should go there under any circumstances. There was a time in my life when I went there four to five times per year. It is not so far from Zurich. It takes about three and a half hours by car to go to Milano. It fascinates me again and again how well-dressed the Italians are. Fashion is a kind of culture to them, since they can – if you take a closer look at them at the shopping center – turn this into a real piece of art. They love fashion and they can make fashion so attractive that you want to buy everything at their shops. They are friendly and quite stimulating with their Italian charm.
What I can recommend as well is Italian food. Following a long and exhausting shopping tour there is nothing better than the Italian cuisine. Even if it sounds strange but Italy is for me a country that still knows how one can enjoy and live this sweet “do nothing” called “Dolce far niente” I have been to a few cities but no church has impressed me so much like the dome of Milano. With a height of 107 meters and its marble tiles and all the pieces of art one could stay for hours.
What is also very exiting is the triumphal arch at the entrance to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It is located directly next to dome of Milano at the Piazza del Duomo. In the gallery you can find some luxury shops like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada.
This year too Prada has very beautiful clothes in gaudy colors and as always very glamorous. And they do not cling so close to the skin, something I appreciate a lot because in the summer I find it comfortable if the garments or pants wave a little bit in the air. ‘Take a look at the fashion show at http://www.prada.com/en/fashion-shows-ss14/woman .
My heart longs once in a while to make a short trip to this location.
